The southern part of this region, adjacent to Lord Ram's city Ayodhya, plays with the rolling waves of Ninadini Punya Salila Saryu every day and the northern part touches the foothills of the mountain king Himalayas. The ancient name of Gonda district in which Nandini Nagar Mahavidyalaya is situated is Gonard, i.e. the place where cows dance. This forest area of the past is vibrant and alive not only because of the presence of cows but also because it is the penance place of the sages and acharyas who formulated and enriched the ancient Vadmay. The land on which the college stands today is located at the southern end of Gonda district, near Ayodhya and the Saryu river. It is believed that on this land there was an ashram of Guru Vashishtha of Raghukul. It was here that the four brothers Ram, Lakshman etc. received education. Nandini was the self-fulfilled glory of sage Vashishtha, Mandita Dhenu (cow). By the grace of this Dhenu, Suryavanshi emperor Dilip of Ayodhya had a very glorious son like Raghu. The great poet Kalidas, bound by the influence of Maharaja Raghu, composed the epic 'Raghuvansh'. There is a detailed description of the glory of Nandini in this epic. On this joyful and glorious legacy, the foundation of Nandini Nagar Mahavidyalaya was laid on 11 November 1994. Shri Brijbhushan Sharan Singh ji was at the center of it. He is a person who grew up in the sacred soil here. He always yearned that this land, inspired by ancient glory, should become a center of compassion, modesty, bravery, prosperity and spread of knowledge and science. The witness of his aspiration are those 45 educational institutions at college and secondary level, whose founder-manager is Shri Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. Like Mahamana Madan Mohan Malviya, he is a recognized education worker for Devipatan Mandal. His enterprise and commitment towards education and awareness, besides making this college prestigious, is also filling it with limitless possibilities. Nandini Nagar Post Graduate College, which is gradually progressing and expanding, is today situated in an area of 55 acres. There are 200 rooms, gym, indoor hall, auditorium and 40 laboratories of various subjects. There is also residential arrangement in the college.

Admissions are granted to the undergraduate and postgraduate courses of the institute. Nandini Nagar Mahavidyalaya,Gonda admissions are done based on the merit of the previous qualifying exam or a written test is conducted by the institute. NNMV Gonda UG admissions to BA, B.Com, B.Sc, B.Ed, BBA, BCA, degree courses are done based on the 10+2 or graduate or post graduate degree certificate obtained by the candidates. NNMV Gonda PG admissions to MA, M.Com, M.Sc, M.Ed, M.P.Ed and MSW degree courses are done on the basis of the scores of the graduate degree certificate acquired by the candidates. Lastly, candidates have to pay the NNMV Gonda Course fees and confirm their admissions at the institution.
