Admissions Open in Islamiah College (Autonomous)

Islamiah college may be a symbol of devotion to education and love for learning of the Muslims of Vaniyambadi United Nations agency in their zeal for translating into action the message of Sir Syed Ahmed Khan, established the Vaniyambadi Muslim academic Society in 1901, and Islamiah grammar school was started in 1903.

The phenomenal growth of the varsity was thanks to the hardworking and dedicated services and leadership of Janab T.Hajee Badruddin European, Janab Malang Hayath Batcha European, Janab T.Ameenuddin European and Janab Malang Ahmed Batcha European. The full-fludged Islamiah highschool came into being in 1912. In 1916, the society resolved to ascertain Islamiah faculty and also the stone of the faculty was set by His important person Lord Pentland, the then Governer of Madras Province. With princely donations from the Muslim philanthropists, the faculty was started in 1919 and got recognition from July 1921. The building within which the faculty is housed at this time was opened by governor C.Abdul Muslim European United Nations agency gave a overgenerous donation of Rs. 50,000 to the Society.

In 1946, the faculty was upgraded as a Degree faculty providing 2 year degree courses in B.A political economy and B.Com. In 1954, B.A Group1(b) arithmetic was started. In 1956, the faculty got affiliation for the pre-university and also the 3 year degree courses, B.A., B.Sc., and B.Com., were started in 1957. The University accorded permission to start out B.Sc. biological science and B.A. History in 1967. M.A. History was started in 1974, M.Com. in 1975, and M.Sc. arithmetic in 1976.
