Assam Don Bosco University was founded on March 29, 2008 by the Don Bosco Society, Azara, Guwahati. it is located in Assam, India and a Catholic research, non-profit, state private, co-educational university. Through the Assam Don Bosco University Act, 2009 university was officially established on 9 January 2009. Don Bosco Society offers its services through 41 colleges in India. University received the final ‘Letter of Approval’ from the AICTE on 30 june, 2008. After the meeting of Fr. Joseph Almeida and Fr. Stephen Mavely on 24 February 2006 focussed work on setting up the University was began.
