Sh. Lal Bahadur Shastri Arya Mahila College, Barnala is an institution that believes in clearing the fog of illiteracy and bringing the bright sunny days of women education by following the path of great historic personality, a great saint and a founder of Arya Samaj and an active supporter of women education-Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati. The college which spreads over 34 kanals of land is affiliated to Punjabi University, Patiala and has been showering rays of knowledge since 1968. The well-maintained, environment friendly college creates healthy atmosphere of freedom, confidence, individuality, fraternity, self-dependence, sense of responsibility etc.The symbolic Yagyashala in the midst of the college is the center of all spiritual activities. So, students are dressed up with the qualities of patriotism , dedication and devotion towards duties, sportsmanship and virtuous character through N.C.C., N.S.S. Youth Club & R.R. Club (Red Ribbons Club) Meritorious students and a number of trophies placed in the Principal’s office are the feathers in the cap of the college. Hindi, Punjabi, Sanskrit, English, Political Science, History, Music, Home Science, Fashion Designing, Fine Arts, Computers, Economics, Psychology, Physical Edu. A well-equipped Library, Hostel, Administrative Block, Cafeteria, Girl’s Common Room, Numerous Spacious Lawns, Stationery Shop, Ample Space for Parking, Big Play Ground and Gym are provided within the college campus.

Computer Laboratory
Considering today's need for computerization, our College is proud to have all the infrastructure facilities in certain faculties such as Commerce, Geography and Mathematics. These departments have their own computer laboratories with modern equipment and necessary software (Microsoft Office, Mathematica, Matlab, Latex, C++ software, etc.) to meet the needs of students. In addition, the library also has an e resource center, which provides access to e resources among other things.
Library
Shahid Bhagat Singh College has a fully computerized barcode library. The library has a computer lending system with barcodes. We have two computers dedicated to OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog) book searches. This collection is enriched by his over 86,796 books on various research fields. The library also subscribes to over 100 of his periodicals in various fields (national and international, specifically Harvard Business Review, The Economist, etc.). The library also has a small computer lab for accessing electronic resources subscribed to by the College of Delhi through the College's intranet and the Internet. The Library also holds orientation programs from time to time and provides orientation in electronic resources for accessing bibliographic databases and full text databases available through the College's intranet and the INFLIBNET Consortium and Information Literacy Program. Students are encouraged to inquire about various library services with Dr. Puja Anand Gulati, Librarian.
Canteen
The College campus has a spacious and well ventilated canteen building with ample seating, separate from the academic blocks. We provide students and faculty with a variety of snacks, food, tea, coffee, and other beverages at low prices. The canteen committee monitors food quality, care and hygiene. A proposal to renovate the cafeteria was recently approved by the Building Committee and Board of Directors.
Seminar Rooms
The College has two seminar rooms equipped with state of the art equipment. The College organizes seminars, workshops and lectures with the active participation of students and teachers. Prominent scientists and experts from academic and business organizations are invited to interact with students and give lectures.
