Mallamma Marimallappa Women's Arts and Commerce College was started on the fifteenth of June 1876, By Gurikar Marimallappa at his own residence in Mysore town. because the faculty grew from strength to strength, there arose the necessity for an even bigger building. Then this building, housing Marimallappa P.U. College, high school and better grammar school, was created. once there was a shortage of cash for finishing it, Smt. Mallamma, the spouse of Sri Gurikar Marimallappa, oversubscribed all her jewelry in order that the development of the building continuing. Thus, this imposing building was completed, with the supreme sacrifice and repair of the noble girl. Such yeomen service prompted the Marimallappa academic Trust to start out a Women's form faculty within the name of Smt. Mallamma. during this means, Mallamma Marimallappa Women's Arts and Commerce faculty came into existence in 1982.
