Admission Process for Samaritan College of Nursing

The minimum educational requirements shall be the passing of regular degree course in Nursing (B Sc. Nursing / B Sc. (Hons) Nursing / Post Basic B Sc. Nursing), with minimum of 55% aggregate marks, in an institution which is recognized by Indian Nursing Council.

Eligibility for admission

Candidates who have passed the Plus two of any of the universities in Kerala with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as optional subjects or any examination recognized as equivalent by Mahatma Gandhi University with 50% aggregate marks for optional subjects.

STUDENT TRAINING

The College has well-equipped laboratories for practical training prior to hospital posting. Besides this, students are also exposed to community outreach programs at rural, urban, and primary health centers at Kumarapuram and Malayidamthuruthu, which are attached to the college.

LIBRARY

The Institute has an extensive library with over 3,000 books. The college subscribes to various national and international journals. The library is fully digitalised with open access system, reprographic facilities and the internet and is open to the students from 8 am to 8.00 pm. The campus is Wifi enabled.

RESEARCH

A Research Cell has been established in the College comprising of senior PG faculty members and external experts as members. Ongoing projects are carried out by undergraduate and postgraduate students under the guidance of the senior faculty. Annually, 10 research projects are taken up by the IV year B.Sc students.

FACULTY DEVELOPMENT

The College conducts Continuing Nursing Education programs, journal clubs and workshops to upgrade the teaching faculty. They are encouraged to participate and present papers at national and international workshops and seminars.

SPORTS & EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

A number of opportunities are provided for the students to develop their skills and talents at various levels. Students are encouraged to take part in various competitions at the intercollegiate, state and national levels as well as scientific exhibitions so as to promote and bring out leadership qualities in them. Students are provided with adequate facilities for sports and opportunities to participate in intercollegiate and inter-university levels.
