Admissions Open in College of Agriculture

The College of Agriculture, Palampur was at the start established as a college of Agriculture to cater to the academic wants of distant rough areas of the then geographic area. it had been formally inaugurated by Late Dr. P.N. Thapar, ICS (Retd.), the primary Vice-Chancellor of geographic area Agricultural University, Ludhiana on 1st August 1966. The then Deputy Prime Minister of an Asian country, Shri Morarji Ranchorji Desai arranged the muse stone of the faculty building on twenty third could, 1967. With the reorganization of the geographic area on Hallowmas, 1966, the faculty came within the territorial jurisdiction of Himachal Pradesh. all the same, it remained functioning as an area of geographic area Agricultural University until July twenty-one, 1970. With the beginning of Himachal Pradesh University on July twenty-two, 1970, the faculty became an area of the Agriculture advanced underneath the aegis of Himachal Pradesh University that comprised of the agricultural schools at Palampur and solan goose together with analysis stations settled at totally different places of Himachal Pradesh.

The College earned the standing of a postgraduate establishment in 1971. it had been a historic event once the faculty of Agriculture, Palampur served because the nucleus of HP Krishi Vishvavidyalaya that came into existence by Associate in Nursing Act of the H.P. Vidhan Sabha, (HPKV Act, 1978) and was inaugurated on Hallowmas, 1978 by Shri Neelam Sanjiva Reddy, the then President of Asian country. The University was afterward named as Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya (CSKHPKV), Palampur.
