Narayan Zantye College of Commerce was established in 1994 by Zantye Brothers' Educational Foundation, Bicholim-Goa. We have completed Twenty nine successful years of operation and we are stepping into the Thirtieth year of our existence. Narayan Zantye College is committed to provide best possible educational facilities to Bicholim and surrounding talukas.

Narayan Zantye College has consolidated its position in the field of higher education in Goa through its consistent academic and other performances. The College is situated in extremely, picturesque surrounding with green hillocks on the background.

Narayan Zantye College endeavors to give best training and knowledge in higher education in the field of Commerce and Information Technology.

The College is affiliated to Goa University and conducts regular  B.Com Program and B.Com. Vocational Program. Under both the B.Com. Programs, students can specialize in Financial Accounting, or Costing or Business Management. Our College also conducts professional Programs like CMA (Foundation Program) and CA-CPT (Foundation Program). These Programs enable the students to carve their careers in Business, Industry and other different allied professions. The college offers M.Com. Program affiliated to Goa University. Goa University has granted recognition to our college as research center (Ph.D.) in Commerce with effect from the Academic Year 2012-13. 

The College has its own campus with Library facility, E-Library, Gymkhana, Indoor Hall, Open Air Auditorium, Computer Laboratory, Canteen, Seminar Hall, etc. Above all, there are well qualified and dedicated teachers who ensure that quality education and training is imparted in the most holistic manner to our students. Our T.Y.B.Com and M.Com results and the extra-curricular achievements of our students are a testimony to this fact.

Rules of Narayan Zantye College of Commerce

All the students are responsible to the College Principal for their general conduct, both inside and outside the College.

Any student, who is late to come to the College and not permitted to attend the lectures by the lecturer, should go to the library or Reading room and is not to loiter about in the corridors and disturb the class and the office. Anyone found loitering is liable to be punished.

Insubordination to any teacher, staff member and other College authorities and indecent language or conduct in the campus are sufficient reasons for the dismissal of a student.

At least 75% class attendance in lectures & practicals and satisfactory performance at the college examination is a condition for permitting the students to appear for the University examination as per university circular No. GUN/Attendance/138/2004/2213 dt 18/8/2004.

Every student is expected to deal with the College property with due care and to help in keeping the premises neat and tidy, taking College as a continuation of his/her home. Any damaged caused to the College property is a breach of discipline and will be dealt with severely.

No visitors/outsiders are allowed to be in the College to meet the students, unless permitted by the college authorities.

All extra and co-curricular activities conducted in the name of the college, either within the College premises or outside, will require prior permission from the Principal.

No Society, Association or Union shall be formed in the College and no person invited to address any meeting without Principals prior permission.

No student is allowed to smoke, take liquor, drugs or intoxicants within the campus. Even outside the campus he/she is expected to have a good moral and social behavior so as to keep up the name of the college.

Every student should carry an Identity Card which should be produced when asked for by the Principal, any teacher of the college or by any administrative staff member. Duplicate Identity Card/Library card will be issued on payment.

No student shall collect any money within the college campus or outside using the College name in any form as contribution for picnics, trips, educational visits, get-together, charity or any other activity, without the prior permission of the Principal.

The following items also form a part of College discipline-

i)  Attendance of N.S.S. work and practice of games and other programmes after selection.  

ii) Participation in games and other college programs after being selected for any game/programme.

The College may hold in reserve the final examination results of those students who fail to clear their dues(breakages, damage, loss, etc.) by the end of the academic year.

Library

The college library is fully automated with NewGenlib Library Software.

The library has a collection of  18000+books and 68 journals/periodicals of the National and International levels.

The College library subscribes to the UGC Inflibnet N-LIST program from where students and faculties can access 6000+ e-journals and 31,35,000+ e-books. In order to access these resources, the library provides user id and passwords for the users.

The College library also subscribes to few Online journals. Library provides an e-library facility for students and faculties with 20 computer systems enabled with the broadband facility.

A Barcode system is used for the issue, return, and renewal of books.

I.T Infrastructure

The College has two Air-Conditioned Computer Laboratory offering the state of the art technology to our students. The best hardware and the latest software packages are available in adequate measure to the aspiring students to build up a career in Information Technology. The computer lab has inbuilt classroom facilities with 34 computers, printers, scanners, and other necessary infrastructure including the Internet.

Cafeteria

A full-fledged canteen providing vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes for breakfast, lunch, and snacks remain in operation from 8.00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The canteen enjoys the facility of the large size water cooler, marble tables, etc.

Auditorium

The College is perhaps the only College to enjoy the facility of an Open Air Auditorium surrounded by the College building from all sides. This auditorium has a sitting capacity of 1000 audience. It has its own public address system with lighting arrangements. Our major functions like College Gathering, Cultural Feast, Fun Week, Inter-Collegiate Competitions, etc. are conducted in this Auditorium. Other functions like Blood Donation Camp, Seminars, Workshops, Guest Lectures, Inauguration of various clubs, etc. are conducted, in an indoor hall having a capacity of 300 persons.

Sports

Facilities available indoor in Multi-Purpose Sports Hall – TT tables (5), Badminton Court (2), Kabaddi Mat Court (1), Chess, Carrom, Tennikoit, Treadmill (1), Fitness bicycles (2), Pulleys (2), Dumbell set with stand (1), Weight Lifting set (1), Abdominal Bench. Facilities are available outdoor at college ground – Football, Cricket with Matting pitch and nets, volleyball, Kho-kho, Athletic track, and other event facilities.
