This institution started its glorious journey as a State Aided College on and from 1970. At the inception only two Honours Subjects – Commerce and Sanskrit were taught along with their general courses. At that time this institution initiates its teaching and learning in a rice-mill at the nearby areas of the locality. The college owes its origin to princely donation from Late Sajanikanta Giri, along with several other contributors. The foundation stone was laid down by His Holiness Sri Sri Swarupananda Paramahansa Deva on 26.01.1968. Since its inception, the institution has committed itself to the goal of teaching and learning in the higher education, ensuring quality education in the best possible manner in order to spread the benefit of higher education in a very rural area of Paschim Medinipur of West Bengal. This makes its land mark in the history of Indian education system as the first “LODHA – one of the oldest tribes of Indian subcontinent” is graduated from here. This institution steps its 50 years of journey (Golden Jubilee year)

Computer Lab
There is a well-equipped and well-decorated computer laboratory with internet facilities. Department of Mathematics, Commerce, Economics, Physics, and Chemistry uses it as a departmental laboratory by sharing as well as all students can use it as required.
Language Lab
A language laboratory is a dedicated space for foreign language learning where students access audio or audio-visual materials. They allow a teacher to listen to and manage student audio, which is delivered to individual students through headsets. in this Laboratory or special room with sound-recording and – reproducing equipment for use by students to practice speaking foreign languages, usually with an instructor monitoring the program.

Vidyasagar Auditorium Hall of the Sabang Sajanikanta Mahavidyalaya is recently build and renovated with its State of Art facilities along with all essential requirements. This is a a moderate hall built to enable an audience of 200 seating capacity to hear and watch performances. This hall is oriented with the the acoustic treatment with high quality (HD) sounds and background multimedia projection facility.

Hostel
There are three hostels-two for male students (Swarupananda Chatrabas) and one for female students (Nibedita Chatri Niwas) under control of the college hostel committee. Two hostel superintendents appointed by the college administration to supervise the hostels and maintain the books of accounts.
Admission to hostel: The students seeking admission to hostel for a particular session are required to apply in the prescribed form to the superintendent. The seats allotted to the students are notified and the students are required to pay the fees and charges at the time of admission.
Charges: Establishment charge including electric, seat rent, cook etc. should be deposited by the student at the time of admission. Messing charge should be deposited by the student in every month as required.
WiFi campus
Fibre Optics based data transfer technology (maximum speed of data transfer up to 450Mbps) along with 10 dedicated Broadband service of BSNL (100 Mbps data transfer rate) installed in the campus. The entire campus is Wi-Fi enabled with a high speed internet connection allow the students to access the internet in a certain Hot Spots in certain selected areas. The coverage of Wi-Fi is not only facilitated to class rooms but also extends to all the areas including Departmental Office Room, library, Laboratory, Auditorium.
